New Uebel Artist: Mitch Berick

Welcome to the F. Arthur Uebel family!


Principal bass clarinetist of the Adelaide Symphony Orchestra


Mitchell Berick is currently Principal Bass Clarinet of the Adelaide Symphony Orchestra, a position he has held since 2010. Mitchell has performed as guest clarinetist with the Australian Chamber Orchestra, Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra, Opera Australia Orchestra and Orchestra Victoria. He has also made numerous appearances with the Melbourne and New Zealand Symphony Orchestras.


Mitchell studied at Newcastle Conservatorium in Australia, where he was awarded the Faculty Medal, before moving to London to take up a scholarship at the Royal Academy of Music. Mitchell then studied at the Australian National Academy of Music before moving to Adelaide to take up his position with the Adelaide Symphony. In 2014, Mitchell made his concerto debut with the Adelaide Symphony Orchestra.


Mitchell is also an avid chamber musician, performing regularly at many venues and festivals in Adelaide and Australia, as well as live on ABC Classic. Mitch is a dedicated educator and teaches clarinet at the University of Adelaide's Elder Conservatorium and is an adjudicator at Eisteddfods and competitions in Adelaide.
